Pain Management

PAIN RELIEF FOR DOGS AND CATS IN COLORADO SPRINGS

Keeping your pet comfortable during and after their treatment and/or surgery is important to us, and we know how important it is to you, too. In addition to causing stress in dogs and cats, pain can slow recovery and possibly lead to other health issues. Here at Tri-Lakes Animal Emergency Care, we provide multi-modal pain management solutions to meet the unique needs of our dog and cat patients. Every pet is different and deserves pain relief that is free of adverse effects.

Call Us

Hiding pain and sickness comes naturally to dogs and cats, but there are some outward clues you can look for, such as:

  • Decreased or non-existent appetite

  • Sleeping more often throughout the day

  • Hiding under or behind furniture and refusing to come out

  • Trembling/shaking

  • Whimpering or yelping

  • Moving slowly or struggling to stand/lay down

  • Avoiding the stairs

  • Limping

  • Walking with back hunched or arched

  • Drooling

FORMS OF PAIN RELIEF WE CAN OFFER

Some examples of what we can provide to help dogs and cats stay comfortable:

  • NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)

  • Injectable pain medication

  • Nerve blocks

  • Anesthesia

We may also be able to prescribe alternative medications to NSAIDs if your pet has a history of NSAID reactions. Their safety is just as important to us as their comfort.

If you have any questions about your pet’s pain relief medication or need additional pain relief for their recovery, be sure to let us know by calling (719) 434-1118.
